Better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive counsel (friendly reproof and warning)–

Today’s Meditation

James 1:6-7 (AMP)

“Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. 7 For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,”

Reflection

Early on my spiritual journey with Lord I was a bit fickle when it concerned asking the Lord for something. Would He give me what I wanted? Would He truly answer my prayers? Depending on the situation or how I felt, I would either be certain the Lord would provide or I would have doubt shortly after asking Him. I went back and forth and back and forth.

Now, I’m not like that so much. I have learned over the years about the Lord’s faithfulness. I have experienced the benefits of not doubting. I trust the Lord and know that what I ask for that is His will and purpose for my life has already been done. My asking just released what He had already decreed in my life.

Today’s Meditation

I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.”
JOHN 13:34‭-‬35 (AMP)

Reflection:

I invite you to let love start and finish your intentions and conversations.

Blessings,
Barbara J Couch, MDiv.
